Marianne Faithfull discharged from hospital after fighting coronavirus
Marianne Faithfull has been released from hospital 22 days after being admitted with coronavirus symptoms.
Earlier this month, Faithfull was admitted to hospital after testing positive for coronavirus. On 4 April, Faithfull's health was described as "stable and responding to treatment". Faithfull reportedly checked herself into the hospital on 30 March after getting a cold, and tested positive for the virus. Faithfull's friend Penny Arcade told Rolling Stone that she developed pneumonia in hospital. The 73-year-old has some previous healh issues, including breast cancer and hepatitis C.
Yesterday (22 April), her Twitter account was updated with two tweets revealing she's been discharged from hospital, "We are really happy to say that Marianne has been discharged from hospital today, 22 days after being admitted suffering from the symptoms of Covid-19. She will continue to recuperate in London."
In a second tweet, they write, "Marianne thanks you all for your kind messages of concern which have meant a great deal through what is a such a difficult time for so many. She is also very grateful to all the NHS staff who cared for her at the hospital and, without doubt, saved her life."
