Mammút cover Cher's "Believe" and make it a magical dream-pop banger
Icelandic group Mammút today unleash a rather excellent video for their even excellenter cover of Cher's bona fide anthem "Believe".
Mammút released their thrilling record Kinder Versions earlier this year, and they deploy their grinding twist on the '90s classic (which somehow turns 20 next year) as a follow up. The visuals, directed by Hawk Björgvinsson, are ace as well - how damn cute are those dogs?!
"Inside a disco taxi in Austin Texas back in 2007, we randomly chose Cher’s 'Believe' on a karaoke machine in the back, and that moment and song got burned in to our musical hearts," explain Mammút. "When we hear it our eyes fill up with tears or we burst into singing along. Now, 10 years later it has a whole new meaning to us because of the question in the song, 'do you believe in life after love?' It really hits us and we can’t figure out the answer, so we made a cover."
Mammút are touring the UK in November, with shows in Brighton, London, Bristol, Norwich, Manchester, and Glasgow confirmed. Find out full details and ticket info.
