Yesterday (16 March) on Twitter, Mahalia shared a thread about the single, writing, "Ugh. If I had a penny for every time someone told me to ‘stop being so sensitive’, I’d be a billionaire by now. I don’t know why people are so scared by someones emotions. Especially when they might be the one affecting them."
"I’ve come to believe that sensitivity is one of my most beautiful traits," Mahalia continued. "It’s why I can write music. Its why I can share so much with you guys. And why I’m so willing to love - even if that means getting hurt. I’m not afraid of my emotions. And you shouldn’t be either."
One time, a person said to me, “Nobody can make u feel anything”. I believed that for a good chunk of my life. I started to think that the only reason I was feeling upset was because I was allowing myself to & not because somebody had said something to try & inflict pain upon me.
