Maggie Rogers shares statement after fan told her to take her top off at show
Maggie Rogers has posted a statement online in response to being told to take off her top by a fan during her show.
While performing in Austin, Texas over the weekend, an audience member decided to shout "take your top off" at Maggie Rogers while she was making a speech about "gratitude and growth and change".
Following the incident, Rogers has shared a statement online, revealing she was "stunned. furious. fuming. confused. and also - on a really basic level - it really hurt my feelings."
Rogers adds, "I step on stage every night and give every part of me. And my community shows up every night and together, we create a safe space to amplify each other. To allow relief. To allow release. There's a deep amount of trust there."
Closing her statement, Rogers writes, "I want to use this moment to be very very clear. There is no space for harrassment or disrespect or degradation of any kind at my show."
