Madonna to receive Advocate for Change honour at GLAAD awards
Madonna will receive an Advocate for Change award from LGBTQ advocacy organisation GLAAD.
GLAAD, a non-Governmental media monitoring organisation, has revealed the nominees for their 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards.
The only winner to be named in advance of the awards ceremony in May is the Advocate for Change award, which GLAAD have revealed will be awarded to Madonna.
Revealing the news on Twitter, GLAAD write, "Through her entire career Madonna has used her global platform to stand for LGBTQ equality and acceptance. We’re proud to announce that she’ll receive the Advocate for Change Award at the GLAAD awards in NYC."

Variety report that GLAAD's president and chief executive Kate Ellis said, "Madonna always has and always will be the LGBTQ community’s greatest ally. From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted. Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds."
Other musicians nominated in the multimedia awards include Years & Years, Troye Sivan, SOPHIE, Kim Petras, Hayley Kiyoko, Christine and the Queens, and more.
Before Christmas Mykki Blanco teased fans over a potential Madonna collaboration. Madonna hasn't released new music since 2015's Rebel Heart.
