Madonna drops new single "Dark Ballet" with video starring Mykki Blanco as Joan of Arc
Madonna has shared another taste of her forthcoming Madame X album with new single "Dark Ballet", featuring Mykki Blanco as Joan of Arc.
"Dark Ballet" lands after earlier singles "Crave", "Future", "I Rise", and "MedellĂn".
The new offering also arrives with visuals directed by Emmanuel Adjei, which feature Mykki Blanco playing Joan of Arc.
Speaking about her new single, Madonna said about being inspired by Joan of Arc, "She fought the English and she won, still the French were not happy. Still they judged her. They said she was a man, they said she was a lesbian, they said she was a witch, and, in the end, they burned her at the stake, and she feared nothing. I admire that."
Madame X, Madonna's follow up to 2015's Rebel Heart, is heavily influenced by her time spent living in Lisbon, Portugal. Spread across 15 new tracks, Madonna sings in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
