Mac Miller documentary postponed by rapper's estate
Filmmaker C.J. Wallis was planning to make a documentary on late rapper Mac Miller, but reveals his estate has asked him to hold off for the time being.
C.J. Wallis was preparing to shoot a documentary that was "not a life story" on the late rapper who died in September 2018 from a combination of cocaine and fentanyl.
Forty FPS Films has since revealed that Miller's estate has asked for the documentary plans to be halted, We heard back from Christian Clancy & The Estate who said the family has requested we hold off on the project at this time. We immediately compiled as the last thing we'd want is to negatively impact anyone involved, quite the opposite."

They added, "We felt comfortable announcing our intentions in advance of receiving permission because they were just that - intentions. The concept was peers telling their one favorite Mac story & cutting them together as a motivational & positive picture. Not a life story."
The outpouring of support for the doc and that it was us trying to make one was humbling, and in time perhaps we will get to see it through.

Last month an unreleased Mac Miller song, "Benji The Dog" appeared online. The track has since been taken down.
Mac DeMarco recently dedicated two songs, "Heart to Heart", and "Skyless Moon", from his new record to the late rapper.
