Mac DeMarco's selling a filthy old pair of Vans for charity; bidding has already topped $10K
Mac DeMarco is selling a pair of filthy old Vans shoes - in what we can only assume were red at some point - on eBay. One of them is even signed.
It's for a good cause though; he's not yoinking the funds himself. All the proceeds raised are being given to the Willie Mae Rock Camp For Girls. So it's pretty good news then that bidding has already topped $10,000. There are over six days left to place a bid too, with prospective owners of the "stinky" sneakers having until 4 January to log a bid.
In a post accompanying the lot, DeMarco says:
"I'm selling an old pair of my shoes. I've John Hancocked the left shoe. Will anyone buy an old stinky pair of shoes? I don't know. lets wait and see.
I'll probably throw some other crap in the box before shipping it, I dunno what.
If you're one of those kids who tried to take them off my feet while I was crowd surfing at some point this year, nice try jackass. But hey, here's another opportunity for you to have them.
All of the profit will go to Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls."
If you fancy taking a look at the auction - or indeed placing a bid - head here. As Stereogum note, he's also got 100% feedback on eBay, so you know he's not gonna stiff you out of cash.
