MØ unveils glittering sad-pop banger "Nights With You"
MØ has shared sparkling new single "Nights With You" and provided an intriguing update as to the whereabouts of her second LP.
The track debuted yesterday on MistaJam's BBC Radio 1 show - during premiere MØ also revealed that the track would appear on her long-awaited second LP, which is "very, very close" to being done. MØ's next album has been a long time in the making, with debut album No Mythologies To Follow being released in 2014.
"'Nights With You' is about my best friend." MØ explains. "I've known her since kindergarten and she is like a sister to me. We are very different but also super similar and we've shared our life together on so many levels. The lyrics are about telling your soulmate to let go of all the worries. We live in crazy times, in a crazy world with crazy expectations to what happiness is, and the pressure we put on ourself is enormous. Sometimes all you need is someone who knows you well to just demand of you to stop worrying, turn off your phone, go out, get smashed and forget about life as we know it. If only just for a while."
"I wrote the song in LA with Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Cashmere Cat, and SOPHIE," MØ continues. "It’s the first time I’ve worked with such a large team, and I really admire and respect them all so I was reeeally excited to work with them, and I'm so pleased they wanted to join me in making this song.”
The new track follows Snakehips collab "Don't Leave" and last year's solo offerings "Final Song", "Drum", and "Kamikaze".
