M.I.A. releases documentary credits track "Reload"
M.I.A. shares "Reload", a track recorded in the earlier days of her career, which only surfaced after featuring on the credits to her recent autobiographical documentary.
"Reload" surfaced on M.I.A.'s recent documentary MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. as the credits track.
M.I.A. has shared the old unreleased recording with an accompanying music video, co-directed by Elastica’s Justine Frischmann, which sees a younger M.I.A. perform on VHS alongside her friends.
The song was written with Frischmann before the release of M.I.A.’s 2005 debut album Arular.
The video description names her three dancers that also appear in the video, with a sweet little note about M.I.A. wanting to reconnect, "(if you're out there, get in touch!)"
M.I.A.'s last album was 2015's AIM.
