Lucy Rose announces new album Something's Changing and "global cinema tour"
Lucy Rose has today revealed details of her third studio long player Something's Changing - plus a "global cinema tour".
The LP, the follow up to 2015's Work It Out and last December's intimate Live At Urchin Studios record, was teased earlier this month via new single "Floral Dresses" featuring The Staves.
Something's Changed was recorded in Brighton with producer Tim Bidwell with contributions from bassist Ben Daniels and drummer Chris Boot, plus The Staves, Daughter's Elena Tonra, Bear’s Den’s Marcus Hamblett, and Matthew and The Atlas’ Emma Gatrill.
The new tour includes a heap of European shows, including dates at London's Rio Cinema and Paris' Cine XIII, as well as trips to Argentina, Chile, Mexico, India, The Philippines, and Singapore.
Rose is no stranger to travelling - the album's companion documentary focuses on her South and Central American jaunt last year that saw her tour a number of countries playing free shows and staying with fans. During her time away Rose compiled an in-depth tour diary for us.
"Music is actually more than music for most people in the world," says Rose of the film. "Lots of my friends and family won’t have that connection to music like the people I met, but to them it’s more than just having background music when you’re cooking, it’s saved them in some sort of way. The documentary is a big part of this record and I think it explains why that trip was important and why it lead to me making the record that I’ve made. The trip gave me confidence to do things like record in just one take and the songs came more easily."
