Loyle Carner has fan kicked out of show for sexist comments
Mercury-nominated artist Loyle Carner got a fan kicked out of his show and "banned from [the] venue, for life."
The fan was reportedly making sexist remarks towards Elisa Imperilee, who was performing as part of support act Elisa & Srigala at the gig at Norwich's University Of East Anglia on Sunday, 8 October.
"The burden to call out and challenge discriminatory behaviour is nearly always placed on the person facing it and it's completely unrealistic that they will always be in a position to," writes Imperilee on Instagram. "...what Loyle Carner did last night was so important. It sends a strong message that not only is sexist behaviour totally unacceptable but that all of us, including men and particularly those in a position of influence, have an important role to play in challenging and addressing sexism, prejudice, and discrimination wherever we see it. The audience came together and collectively condemned the behaviour by identifying the man and I was very impressed with UEA's rigorous zero tolerance sexual harassment policy. It just goes to show how effective it can be when we all work together to challenge misogyny and discrimination in all its forms."
You can watch a clip of the incident via Twitter below, with Carner telling the fan: "I’m sorry man, you gotta learn a lesson my young man. You gotta go. For being sexist, you gotta go."

That shit will not be tolerated at any show. He's been banned from that venue, for life. https://t.co/TK4ouHQgv0
