Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins appears in court, remanded until March
Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins has appeared in court following child sex accusations.
The singer (pictured, second left), 35, of Pontypridd, appeared before Cardiff Crown Court on 31 December for six charges related to intended sexual activity with a one-year old girl and possession of indecent images of animals and children.
BBC News reports that Watkins has been remanded until 11 March 2013.
His band recently released the following message regarding the news:
“Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers.
Jamie, Lee, Luke, Mike and Stu.”
A woman, 20, and another, 24, have also been remanded in custody, with all three refused bail.
Lostprophets scored a UK #1 album back in 2006 with Liberation Transmission. Their latest album, Weapons, came out earlier this year.
