Los Campesinos! offer to pay first month union fees if UK fans can't afford it
Los Campesinos! are calling for UK fans to get in touch with them if they can't afford to pay the first month's subscription fee to a union related to their profession.
The ongoing coronavirus crisis has highlighted acts of kindness from people around the world, and today (11 May), Welsh band Los Campesinos! have decided to extend their kindness and generosity to their UK followers.
People have to pay to join professional unions, but it helps protect workers from being treated unfairly, and the coronavirus pandemic just provides more reasons for employees to apply to join a union in order to protect their futures in jobs that might be currently furloughing a large proportion of their staff.
This afternoon (11 May), Los Campesinos! offered to help their UK followers with some financial aid if they're struggling to pay the first month's payment to join a union. They wrote on Twitter, "UK followers: if you would like to join your profession’s union but do not have the spare cash to do so at this time, please DM us and we will sub you the first month’s fees."
