Lorde's new single is probably out this week and you can hear a bit now
Lorde's long-awaited comeback single is coming this week by the looks of things.
The New Zealand artist appeared on a super-brief spot on TV last night (in her home country) chowing down in the back of a car, as Popjustice point out via The Spinoff. More interestingly there's music - a sneaky preview of the new single? It's based around a house-y piano riff and doesn't really sound like the big, brooding pop of Pure Heroine.
After a few seconds the screen cuts to two dates: "3.2.17 NYC" and "3.3.17 NZ". Gigs? Release dates? The Spinoff reckon the latter.
Earlier this month it was reported that Lorde's new single would be released 7 March, and just a few days ago it was revealed that she'd be on Saturday Night Live, so there's definitely something happening.
Lorde's debut album Pure Heroine was released in 2013. Despite not releasing an album for a while, Lorde's certainly kept busy - she paid tribute to David Bowie at last year's BRIT Awards, has worked with Broods and Disclosure, and curated the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
