Lorde and Yoni Wolf plan to collaborate
New Zealand pop upstart, Lorde took to Twitter last night to make a confession, admitting she may have inadvertently plagiarised a WHY? lyric in one of her tracks.
Lorde became the youngest person to score U.S number one single in 26 years when ‘Royals’ topped the Billboard charts over the weekend, taking time out to tweet “i quoted @YoniWolf in still sane and completely forgot to ask him oops”.
The lyric in question refers to “Only bad people live to see their likeness in stone”, which lends from Yoni Wolf’s original “By torpedo or Crohn’s, Only those evil live to see their own likeness in stone” from WHY? track ‘By Torpedo or Crohn’s’.
Yoni didn’t seem too annoyed though, instead replying “Let’s rectify the situation with some touring/collaboration!!”, adding: “I tumblr’ed you my email and phone number. Let’s do this. I’ll be the shitty father you never had.”
