
Loraine James announces new album responding to the works of the late Julius Eastman
Loraine James has announced Building Something Beautiful For Me, a new album that will reimagine and respond to the works of the late Julius Eastman.
As well as announcing Building Something Beautiful For Me, James has released the album opener "Maybe If I (Stay On It)", which reinterprets the melody from Eastman's "Stay On It".
The new album will be James' first since releasing a self-titled album as Whatever the Weather in April.
On 2 October, James will play select songs from the new album for a special llive performance with the London Contemporary Orchestra at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre. Tickets are on sale now from southbankcentre.co.uk.
