Loney Dear releases new single "B A K L", re-visits 2009 track "Everything Turns To You"
Swedish wunderkind Loney Dear (aka Emil Svanängen) released a new single this weekend, the first to be lifted off the as-yet untitled new album set for a 2014 release.
Available on Spotify now, “B A K L” is perhaps Svanängen’s most experimental release to date; a playful song that’s drenched in reverse vocals and drums yet still tinged with the signature Loney Dear lovelorn tones and aching melodies.
In addition to “B A K L”, Svanängen has also released a brand new version of 2009 track “Everything Turns To You” - stripping the song (lifted from the album Dear John) to its very core with just a piano and Svanängen’s mournful croon as accompaniment.
No more news on a new album is available as of yet, however 2014 will also see Loney Dear re-issue his entire back catalogue on vinyl, starting with the 2007 classic Loney Noir which is available to pick up here.
