The O2 Arena in London has become the most popular venue in the world after breaking a revenue record of £63m last year alone.
The Evening Standard has reported that the O2 managed to shift 2 million tickets last year – partly due to the array of big name acts they’ve brought to the venue, including the 2012 Olympics gymnastics. The Rolling Stones and Beyonce were also key events that year.
Previously the Millennium Dome, the arena is 15% owned by the taxpayer after American group AEG took over the land for nothing with 15% share of the profits going to the government over the course of 25 years. Their profit rocketed to £15.5m this year.
