LL Cool J cancels New Year's Eve performance after testing positive for COVID
LL Cool J has had to pull out from his performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022 after testing positive for COVID.
New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022 will no longer feature a performance from LL Cool J after he tested positive for COVID.
LL Cool J shared news of his positive test to Billboard yesterday (29 December). He was due to appear at the Times Square event in NYC just before midnight to play a career-spanning set.
He said in a statement, "I know it’s disappointing to the millions of fans but my test came back positive for COVID, which means I’ll no longer be able to perform as scheduled at NYRE. We were ready and I was really looking forward to ringing in 2022 in my hometown in a special way, but for now I wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year. The best is yet to come!"
On top of LL Cool J pulling out from the event, Chlöe - who was due to perform her debut solo single "Have Mercy" - has also cancelled her appearance, but it's currently unclear why.
