Live Nation charged after Radiohead stage collapse death
The promoters behind last summer’s tragic stage collapse at a Radiohead show in Toronto have been charged with the failure to adhere to Health and Safety procedures.
As the Hollywood Reporter point out, Live Nation are facing eight counts of misconduct, including ”failure to ensure the structure was designed and constructed to support or resist all likely loads and forces”.
Live Nation adamantly refute claims of being at fault, releasing a statement saying: “We absolutely maintain that Live Nation and our employees did everything possible to ensure the safety of anyone who was on or near the stage involved in the tragic incident that led to the unfortunate death of Mr. Scott Johnson.”
Drum technician Scott Johnson was killed in the incident, while three others experienced serious injuries. Live Nation could face a fine of $500,000 if found guilty, say The Star.
