Little Simz crowned DICE Live Award winner
Little Simz has won the second annual DICE Live Award.
Simz was awarded the gong at a ceremony at Hackney's Moth Club las night (19 November). Girl Band, The Big Moon, and Jack Garratt were also in the running for the DICE Live Award, which was decided by "a panel of 100 journalists, promoters, broadcasters, and venues around the UK."
The rapper's debut long-player, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, was released in September, but Simz's 2015 is littered with achievements.
Speaking about the award, Simz says: “It feels totally surreal to have won... performing in front of that crowd, my last show of 2015, it's such a high to end the year on. The worldwide tour starts next year, can't wait.”
Russ Tannen, Head of Music at DICE, adds: “We had an incredible shortlist but Little Simz has smashed it this year so we’re stoked that she’s come out on top tonight. Last year’s winners, Wolf Alice, went on to score a number two album and Mercury nomination. The next 12 months are going to be massive for Simz.”
