Little Scream signs to Merge Records, shares "Love As A Weapon"
Signing to Merge Records, Montreal-based artist Little Scream has shared her first new track in four years.
Chiming refrains, breezy percussion, and zany synth melodies forge a sound that progresses from toe-tapping to an all-out twirl-along in mere moments. "Love As A Weapon" is bright and contagious, a scorchingly optimistic venture of blissful enthusiasm that's impossible to not be elated by.
"I was thinking of classic pop songs, how a good one can lift you out of a fog like nothing else," Laurel Sprengelmeyer says of her track. "This is a song of rebellious joy, for dancing and crying and starting over, again and again.”
Premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, "Love As A Weapon" can be streamed below.
