Little Big release statement confirming they won't represent Russia at Eurovision 2021
Russia's Little Big, who were supposed to represent their country at last year's Eurovision, have released a statement confirming they won't be performing for Russia at Eurovision 2021.
Last year, prior to Eurovision being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Little Big unveiled their 2020 Eurovision entry for Russia - "Uno".
The bizarre, disco-meets-latin-meets-rave bop became the most-watched video on Eurovision's YouTube channel, gaining over 190million views in just under a year.
While last year's Eurovision contestants for Iceland (Daði Freyr) and the UK (James Newman) were reselected to represent their countries at Eurovision 2021, Little Big have released a statement confirming they won't be returning to represent Russia at this year's Eurovision.
They wrote in the statement posted to Facebook, "We are not going to the Eurovision-2021. We think that Russia has many talented and unique artists, each one of them deserves the chance to be seen out there. Thanks to our Russian fans and all the international fans for showing support, it means the world to us. It’s because of you that the UNO music video has the most views in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel!"
Little Big added, "We wish the best of luck to all the Eurovision-2021 participating countries. Yours Little Big."
