The Soft Pink Truth—the experimental house side-project of Matmos’ Drew Daniel—has unveiled another electronic re-imagining of a metal track, this time giving Sarcófago’s “Ready to Fuck” the house treatment with some accompaniment from Wye Oak’s/Dungeonesse’s Jenn Wasner.
Where Sarcófago’s 1987 song was a rambunctiously scattered thrash tune, The Soft Pink Truth’s version is, well, not that. It’s a groovy movement of digital claps, bumping rhythms and eloquently eerie Jenn Wasner vocal lines. Check it out below alongside the original.
The Soft Pink Truth’s third album, Why Do the Heathen Rage, is out 17 June via Thrill Jockey.
