Ryley Walker has covered Grouper, Cass McCombs, Isotope 217, and Amen Dunes during a new session.
The covers form Walker's Lagniappe Session for Aquarium Drunkard. He brings together four tracks of "disparate" styles, including Grouper's "Heavy Water/I’d Rather Be Sleeping", "Robin Egg Blue" by Cass McCombs, "Real MC's" by Isotope 217, and "Everybody Is Crazy" by Amen Dunes.
Speaking about his rendition of Grouper's "Heavy Water/I’d Rather Be Sleeping", Walker says: "All time greatest tune. Gave it a shot with just guitar. Really a massive fan of Grouper. Lyrics and arrangements are always fascinating. Every record she sets the bar higher. Listened to this song in particular a hundred times."
Walker's latest LP, Primrose Green, was released last year.
