A new compilation album has been released collecting covers of a popular song that dates back to the late 19th century.
“Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)” was composed by Harry Dacre in 1892, with the likes of Nick Cave, Katy Perry, Tyler The Creator, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Danny Elfman taking on the track for the comp called The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell.
The Daisy Bell project is helmed by artist Mark Ryden, with vinyl copies of the LP released via his website next week to mark his latest exhibition opening in Los Angeles.
