Listen to Modest Mouse's new track "Lampshades On Fire"
Modest Mouse have unveiled their first single in half a decade; it's called "Lampshades On Fire" and it's taken from their forthcoming Strangers To Ourselves album.
It's an upbeat, keys-led ditty with vocal hooks galore and squealing synths. Eastern-flecked guitars and South American woodwind blur into the commotion, with Isaac Brock's fevered staccato vox hammering through baroque-pop environs. It's a bold comeback, that's for sure.
"Lampshades On Fire" is taken from Strangers To Ourselves, Modest Mouse's first studio album since 2007's We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. Their new LP is due 3 March via Epic.
Listen to the track now via The Current. It's available to purchase from 16 December.
