Listen to Grimes, Chairlift's Caroline Polachek, and Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss take over SiriusXMU
Claire Boucher, better known as Grimes, was given full control of SiriusXM's channel, SiriusXMU, last week. She was joined by Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss and Chairlift's Caroline Polachek as she played tracks off her new album Art Angels.
Polachek also talked about touring with Ariel Pink. She revealed how he and his band had ignored her, and mocked her vocal warm ups, during her first tour in support of his band. Mr. Pink's excuse was, apparently, that he thought he also needed to do vocal warm ups, and the sniggerings were in fact his way of "trying to learn".
As well as this, Boucher described Art Angels cut "California" as a "hate track to Pitchfork", and Polachek explained the time her teenage self once tried to give home-baked pie to Joanna Newsom at a show.
