Listen to David Bowie's final recordings "When I Met You", "Killing A Little Time", and "No Plan"
David Bowie's final studio recordings, "When I Met You", "Killing A Little Time", and "No Plan", are streaming online.
UPDATE 19/10: The third and final of Bowie's final recordings, "Killing A Little Time", can be heard below.
The first of these tracks debuted on BBC 6 Music, on Shaun Keaveny's breakfast show - you can listen to "When I Met You" at the 51:20 mark.
"No Plan" was aired on Jeremy Vine's BBC Radio 2 show earlier today - hear the track around the 46:20 mark.
The songs appear on the upcoming Lazarus Cast Album, released 21 October via ISO/RCA. Lazarus is Bowie's musical - it's a musical reimagining of 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth, which starred Bowie himself. The musical features re-arranged versions of Bowie songs, as well as new material composed specially for the show.
The cast album will feature the original NYC cast and band perfoming their renditions of Bowie's music, as well as Bowie's final studio recordings, which will be included alongside the studio version of "Lazarus" on a separate disc (CD edition).
These recordings "bring completely new dimensions to their cast counterparts", and were produced with long-time collaborator Tony Visconti and recorded with the same band that performed on Bowie's final studio album Blackstar, released days before his death back in January.
Shortly after Bowie's passing it was revealed that there was “a long list of unscheduled musical releases that Bowie planned before he died.” These final recordings follow Bowie's The Gouster, a recently released 'lost' record from the '70s.
BBC radio has first plays on Tuesday of last Bowie recordings.
