Listen to Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic in interview for In Utero's 20th anniversary, plus unreleased Nirvana material
To mark the upcoming 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s third and final record, In Utero, plus its slated special re-release, NPR have released this 40-minute strong documentary in which they discuss the background of the album, plus its legacy, with surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.
In the doc, the former bandmates discuss everything from Steve Albini’s production techniques to Kurt Cobain’s alternate lyrics to ‘All Apologies’ and even setting each other on fire during the recording process.
They all preview ‘Forgotten Tune’, an instrumental track set to feature on the 20th anniversary reissue. You can hear that at 39:30 mark.
Meanwhile, as Pitchfork note, some record stores are giving away free Nirvana tattoos with every CD of In Utero sold.
