Listen to "Autodidact" by Swervedriver
Oxford's legendary shoegaze pioneers Swervedriver have unleashed a new cut from upcoming album I Wasn't Born To Lose You called "Autodidact".
The track will open Swervedriver's comeback long-player. It dawns with a thatch of washed-out axes and angular riffs, and it becomes immediately apparent that their former graces have remained, despite the years away and changes in personnel. The band have had a major role in the minds of the fuzzy-rock/navel-glaring outfits of today, and with "Autodidact" it's evident they still have much more to offer.
The band reformed in 2007, but have staved off crafting anything new - or at least releasing anything new - for the majority of that time.
Swervedriver's I Wasn't Born To Lose You will be released 2 March on Cobraside. It will be their first album of the millennium, with their last LP 99th Dream arriving in '98.
