Lil Nas X reveals he originally wanted Drake on "Dolla Sign Slime" with Megan Thee Stallion
Lil Nas X has spoken about some artists he originally had in mind for his huge debut album MONTERO, and revealed that he did want Drake to appear on "Dolla Sign Slime" alongside Megan Thee Stallion.
In a new interview with GQ, Lil Nas X has discussed some of the collaborators that he had in mind for his debut album, which featured appearances from Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Elton John and Jack Harlow.
When asked if any collaborations were turned down for MONTERO, Lil Nas X explained, "I don’t usually ask for features like that. But for every feature I did ask for on this album, like, every single one of them worked…besides Drake and Nicki [Minaj]."
On what songs he wanted Drake and Minaj to appear on, he added, "I didn’t ask them directly. I wanted Nicki on "Industry Baby", and I wanted Drake on "Dolla Sign Slime", with Megan [Thee Stallion]. Yeah, but you know, I feel like things always work out. Jack Harlow ended up being, like, the best option. I’m not sure how comfortable Nicki would have felt with that video or whatnot."
When asked if he would put Azealia Banks on a song, Lil Nas X said, "Azealia shits on me too much, though! And I think it’s funny in a way. I still love Azealia Banks’s music."
