Lil Baby helped throw birthday party for George Floyd's daughter Gianna
Lil Baby helped to fund George Floyd's daughter Gianna's seventh birthday party in Atlanta this week.
The Atlanta rapper helped fund Gianna's seventh birthday party this week, and threw the party with NBA star Stephen Jackson to make her first birthday without her father extra special.
Lil Baby's "The Bigger Picture" song was the most streamed protest track after Floyd’s death in May.
As Forbes reports, the party had been planned since July, after Gianna visited restaurant owners and family friends Ericka and William Platt of Restaurant Ten and Rosie's Café. The Platt family brought in their friend and NBA star Stephen Jackson to help, resulting in a socially-distanced L.O.L dolls-themed celebration at Atlanta's Pink Hotel.
Lil Baby and Future's children also attended the event, alongside the chilldren of Rayshard Brooks, who was shot dead as he fled police officers in a restaurant car park in Atlanta back in June.
Erika Platt said of Lil Baby's involvement, "The song is really about supporting children who lost their parents to violence. Lil Baby decided to sponsor Gianna’s birthday party and has been very supportive. We are very grateful for that."
Gianna’s mother Roxie Washington added, "This is a very difficult time for my daughter, so we’re very grateful that our extended family is creating such a special experience for Gianna on her first birthday without her father."
