Let's Eat Grandma prove they're basically the most exciting band right now with "Rapunzel"
"Rapunzel" is the latest song from Let's Eat Grandma, and it more than continues their winning streak.
Like "Eat Shiitake Mushrooms", "Deep Six Textbook", and "Sink", this is an intoxicating concoction, eschewing genre convetions and making us trip the light fantastic in a psychedelic wonderland. Expect baroque pianos, Far East zithers, and harrowing goth-punk vocals.
Speaking about the track, they say it's inspired by “the original Grimms fairytales, as well as from the real life story of Genie, a girl who was abused by her father and kept in solitary confinement for the first 13 years of her life.”
The track appears on I, Gemini, the teenage duo's debut record, which is out 17 June on Transgressive.
