Leonard Cohen reschedules UK live dates after clashes with Jewish holy days
Legendary Canadian songwriter, Leonard Cohen has been forced to move a couple of dates on his upcoming UK tour after finding out they clashed with “days of solemn religious observance”.
Cohen had been booked to play the Leeds Arena on 5 September, which falls on Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, which changes every year but takes place between 5-6 September during 2013. That Leeds date will now be moved to 7 September.
Meanwhile, another date – at London’s 02 Arena on 14 September - has also been moved to the day following for similar religious reasons, as it coincided with the Jewish day of atonement, Yom Kippur.
