LEGO announce release of Fender Stratocaster set based on fan design
LEGO will release the Fender Stratocaster set which was created by a fan as part of the LEGO Ideas Music To Our Ears competition.
The Stratocaster set, designed by LEGO Ideas user TOMOELL, will be adapted by a LEGO designer and released as an official set.
TOMOELL contributed the guitar design to LEGO Ideas' Music To Our Ears 2020 contest, and the Stratocaster design will be the first music-related set to be released after LEGO revealed they were looking to create sets based on adult interests including sports, music and art.
The Stratocaster set designer contributed multiple colour variations of the LEGO guitar, but it's currently unclear which colours LEGO will actually create.
According to Brick Fanatics, LEGO Ideas Design Manager Sam Johnson said, "Everyone has seen the Fender Stratocaster guitar, it’s super famous and we think it’s going to be exciting to bring this to life using LEGO bricks. Music is a relatively new place for LEGO to play in so we’re really excited to see how we can execute this."
