Legends Of Country announce second album with lead single "If That’s What It Takes"
Legends Of Country, led by The Boy Least Likely To's Jof Owen, have announced their second album Anything But Country with the lead single "If That's What It Takes".
"If That's What It Takes" is the band's first new material since 2017's "New Year, New Me", and the Rob Jones-produced song lands with a video directed by Poppy Hankin.
Owen says of the single, "It used to be so much easier being a pop star. All you had to do was write a few good songs, think of an okay band name and all club together to put a record out. If things went well then you might get to go on TV or be interviewed for a fun magazine and that was how you promoted it, but it feels like it’s all so different now. There’s just an endless demand for content driven by algorithms and SEOs, and it just feels like you get to spend less time actually writing and recording songs, and all your time changing outfits and filming yourself cooking on TikTok instead. This song’s about getting to that point where you will literally do anything to be famous! I’m almost there."
The track, which also features bass from new recruit Sophie Moss (Girl Ray) is lifted from Legends Of Country's Anything But Country album, which will follow 2015's Talk About Country.
