It’s with great sadness that we report the death of veteran British producer Andy Johns, at the age of 61.
Johns, who cut his teeth as tape operator at London’s Olympic Studios, went on to record such albums as Led Zeppelin’s IV and The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street.
Having also worked as a producer and sound engineer with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Television, Johns was active right up to his death on Sunday (7 April).
Johns is survived by son Will Johns and nephew Ethan Johns.
