Having signed to Heavenly Records earlier this year the Finnish electro pop duo Le Corps Mince de Françoise – or LCMDF as they prefer to be known nowadays - are currently on tour, navigating the wintery streets of London. And to accompany their latest visit we have something a bit special for you over here at TLOBF towers: the first chance to catch the brand new video for forthcoming single ‘Gandhi’, due for release November 29.
Less sleek, but just as playful as previous visual efforts, this inventively surreal video is poised to set the blogosphere salivating. The droning riot-grrl infused vocal refrain twists with diffused sixties inspired colours, whilst vintage shaky cam scenes featuring the girls themselves are interspersed with an abstract black and white narrative provided by an alien-masked figure amongst other things. The off-kilter keys, hypnotic rhythm and skewed synth-pop sensibilities of Emma and Mia Kemppianen are introduced by a Gandhi like figure before the frantic barrage of art house images flicker gleefully in front of your very eyes.
And as if those 3 minutes and 41 seconds were not enough to satisfy your curiosity, you can watch LCMDF live at The Lexington this evening and at Ginglik tomorrow.
