Lawrence Rothman assembles a crack team of musical talents for new song "Designer Babies"
Lawrence Rothman's latest metamorphosis, "Designer Babies", is a gloomy, dramatic, symphonic explosion of emotion.
The shapeshifting enigma has enlisted Kim Gordon, Angel Olsen, Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Active Child, Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), and Justin Meldal-Johnson (M83, Beck), while Justin Raisen is on production duties. Whoa.
This is Rothman's fifth guise so far - we've already had the shadowy swing of "H", the intimate depth of "Users", an opulent pop grenade with Charli XCX called "Oz Vs. Eden", and the tender Americana of "California Paranoia (ft. Angel Olsen)".
Rothman's long-awaited debut record is currently being finished off with Raisen - who's worked with the likes of Charli XCX, Santigold, and Sky Ferreira.
