Laura Mvula replaces Disclosure & David Bowie as bookies' favourite to win Mercury Prize 2013
This year’s Mercury Prize will be held in London on Wednesday (30 October), with singer-songwriter Laura Mvula becoming a late favourite to take home the award.
With Disclosure and David Bowie leading the bookmakers’ odds for most of the run-up, Mvula has now achieved what William Hill are calling the ”biggest price move in the history of betting on the prize”.
Foals, Laura Marling and Arctic Monkeys remain middle of the odds, while the likes of Jake Bugg and Villagers are being deemed as major outsiders.
