Laura-Mary Carter releases "Blue's Not My Colour" as final preview of debut solo mini-album
Laura-Mary Carter of Blood Red Shoes has shared new cut "Blue's Not My Colour" as the final preview of her debut solo mini-album Town Called Nothing before it arrives on Friday (3 December).
"Blue's Not My Colour" is the third and final track to be lifted from Carter's upcoming mini-album before its release on Friday, following earlier outings "Ceremony" and "Town Called Nothing".
Carter says of the new song, ""Blue's Not My Colour" is about to wanting an uncomplicated relationship. I was listening to a lot of music like Patsy Cline at the time and I thought I want to write a type of love song but flip the script with a little bit of humour to it."
A Town Called Nothing was recorded in multiple studios between the US and UK, and was largely inspired after discovering a town in Arizona called Nothing, following a tarot reading in which Carter was told she would "find her heart in Arizona".
Speaking about the mini-album, Carter adds, "It’s about desolation and abandonment really, and that fear of being left to go derelict, just like those old towns."
