Laura Marling announces new album Short Movie, airs clip for title track
Laura Marling has announced the release of Short Movie, her fifth studio record, following 2013's Once I Was An Eagle.
Speaking about the record, three-time Mercury nominee Marling - who has been releasing records since her late teens - said:
“I realised that I hadn’t been in place for longer than two or three weeks since I was 16... I thought I wonder what will happen if I try and root myself somewhere? Look back over the past eight years”
Short Movie will be the first album she has produced herself, with help from long-time sticksman Matt Ingram and engineer Dan Cox. It was recorded at London's Urchin studios.
Short Movie is out 23 March 2015 on Virgin Records.
