Låpsley announces debut record Long Way Home and airs new single "Love Is Blind"
Southport-born singer/songwriter/producer Låpsley has announced her debut record Long Way Home.
She's also shared a new single from it called "Love Is Blind", which follows the likes of "Hurt Me", "Falling Short", "Painter", and "Station", which have all been given a makeover for the new LP.
Låpsley, aka 19-year-old Holly Fletcher, worked a lot with Rodaidh McDonald on the album, and recorded two tracks with Paul O'Duffy.
Speaking about the LP, Fletcher says:
“It’s an autobiography of my emotions and events over the past year. Everything that’s happened, I’ve channelled in some way into a song – whether that’s the theme of a long distance relationship, or something that he’s said, or the way that I’ve felt, or an argument. I only revisit the memories of that relationship when I go into the studio. I think it’s helped me, to be able to collect everything for those moments when I’m writing. I think that’s what’s driven this album.”
Fletcher will release Long Way Home on 4 March via XL Recordings.
