Lanterns On The Lake return with new track "Baddies"
Lanterns On The Lake have dropped new single "Baddies", the second single to be lifted from their forthcoming album Spook The Herd.
"Baddies" lands after November's lead single "Every Atom".
Vocalist Hazel Wilde says of the new track, ""Baddies" is a song about the rising tide of anger and hate in the world that seems to have been unleashed over the last few years, with those in positions of power and influence actively encouraging it for their own ends, and the polarisation of society as a result. It is about the need for the individual, the underdog, to stand up to it, but the fact that in doing so we become part of it. We become someone else’s baddie."
Spook The Herd will be the group's first album since 2015's Beings.
It's also the first album that saw the band leave Newcastle to record in a studio. They recorded the album at Distant City studios in Yorkshire with engineer Joss Worthington.
Wilde says of their recording process, "We are a pretty insular band in how we work, and trusting other people enough to allow them to get involved is not always easy for us."
