Lana Del Rey shooting new short film featuring portrayals of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Jesus
It has recently been revealed that Lana Del Rey is in the process of shooting a new short film, entitled Tropico, which is reportedly set to feature Jesus, Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.
Plans for Tropico were first revealed by Del Rey last November as a postscript to her ‘Bel Air’ video. It has now been announced that Anthony Mandler, the man responsible for the New York singer’s ‘National Anthem’ and ‘Ride’ videos, as well as The Weeknd’s upcoming clip for ‘Belong To The World, will direct her short movie.
According to a Lana Del Rey fansite, Tropico will feature music from ‘Bel Air’, ‘Body Electric’ and ‘Gods & Monsters’ (taken from Del Rey’s Paradise EP), and features actors playing Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Jesus.
Mandler has also directed various videos for Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj.
