Lana Del Rey covers "Some Things Last A Long Time" by Daniel Johnston
Lana Del Rey has covered Daniel Johnston's "Some Things Last A Long Time" for upcoming Johnston-centric film Hi How Are You Daniel Johnston?.
The film, by Gabriel Sunday, has been two years in production, and has been brought to life thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. Del Rey, as well as Mac Miller, were reportedly big donors to the project.
The trailer features part of Del Rey's version of "Some Things Last A Long Time"; the film features the full cover as well as orchestral renditions of some of Johnston's music.
The film's synopsis on Vimeo reads: "Iconic musician/artist Daniel Johnston stars in this psychedelic short film about an aging artist coming to terms with the dreams of yesteryear. Step inside Daniel's mind as he revisits life in 1983 amidst the creation of his seminal album "Hi, How Are You". Reality and fiction blend as Daniel reveals bitter-sweet truths, tales of unrequited love and advice for artists everywhere."
Hi How Are You Daniel Johnston? is out 11 November to buy/rent.
