Lala Lala announces new album with first single "DIVER"
Chicago's Lala Lala is back with news of her forthcoming album I Want The Door To Open, and has unveiled new cut "DIVER" as the first taster.
"DIVER" is Lala Lala's first outing of 2021, following last year's Baths collaboration "€ € € €^^%%!!!!!heaven!!!!!!", and is accompanied by news of her I Want The Door To Open album, which will follow 2018's The Lamb.
Lala Lala, real name Lillie West, says the lead single is "the thesis of the album", and adds, "I want total freedom, total possibility, total acceptance. I want to fall in love with the rock. I think it’s easy to feel like we keep making the same mistakes over and over again, that we’re Sisyphus. The key is falling in love with the labor of walking up the mountain."
I Want The Door To Open is co-produced by West alongside Why?'s Yoni Wolf. The album features contributions from Kara Jackson, Ben Gibbard, Christian Lee Hutson, Gia Margaret, OHMME, Adam Schatz of Landlady, Sen Morimoto, Kaina Castillo, Meg Duffy, Will Miller and Josiah Wolf.
