Lady Gaga's Muppets Christmas special to air on Channel 5
As well as preparing to perform in space, Lady Gaga’s upcoming appearance on The Muppets is set to be broadcast by Channel 5 in the UK.
The 90-minute holiday special will air during Thanksgiving in the U.S, broadcast by ABC on Thursday (28 November), but will be shown in Britain on a yet-to-be-confirmed December date.
The Jim Henson fan featured pieces from his Creature Shop on her 2010 Monster Ball tour, but this time they’ll be joining in – helping her perform ‘Applause’ alongside other tracks from her ARTPOP LP, with Kermit even assisting in a duet. Other guests will include Sir Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, RuPaul and Kristin Bell.
“I was so excited when ABC called me about doing a holiday special this year,” Gaga says on the network’s website: “I knew it just wouldn’t be a complete night of laughter and memories without the Muppets! Can’t wait to see the gang again, and I hope Miss Piggy’s still not mad about Kermit – we’re just friends!”
